BRUTALIST / Baroque, 2026

These eight ceramic artworks are the result of months of making, glazing, and firing for BRUTALIST / Baroque, an exhibition at Ipswich Art Gallery, also featuring new sculptures by Donalee Moriarty.

The pieces are a response to common descriptors of my work—romantic, exuberant, dramatic. They are the embodiment of excess; encrusted with playful, stylised forms and glazed with precious metals. Each pot hints at a powerful, mysterious purpose, and seeks to evoke the sublime.

They were made after I emerged from a long state of creative hibernation, and together they feel like a joyful victory song.
